Ter Stegen has been in the Dutch capital since Friday for his loan switch, while interest in taking the young full-back on loan too is at an earlier stage, with contacts between the clubs less advanced.
The Ter Stegen deal is expected to be finalised within hours, between Monday and Tuesday, while an agreement over Torrents remains further off.
Official confirmation of Ter Stegen's loan to Ajax is not expected on Sunday, but all parties involved are confident it will be announced on Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Everything has already been agreed after weeks of negotiation, and the German goalkeeper has been in Amsterdam since Friday to undergo a medical and sign the paperwork.
The 34-year-old will join on loan for the 2026-27 season, with Barcelona covering around 90% of his wages, while his contract at Camp Nou runs until June 2028.
During the talks over the German international, Ajax also expressed interest in Torrents, according to the programme Què t'hi jugues?, with Marca subsequently learning that Míchel's side have explored a loan with an option to buy for the young left-footed Catalan full-back, though discussions remain at an early stage.
Barcelona expect a fresh approach next week that could firm up the interest, in a deal in which Ajax would also look to acquire 50% of the player's rights.
Torrents is one of Hansi Flick's options at left-back, competing with Alejandro Balde and possibly João Cancelo, whose return Barcelona are negotiating. Born in La Selva del Camp on 28 January 2007, Torrents joined Barcelona's academy in 2017 and has made four appearances for the first team, three in LaLiga and one in the Copa del Rey, with an ankle injury having cost him three months this year.
Barcelona do not rule out a loan to aid his development, though the deal is not yet finalised, with the aim of resolving it next week. Torrents, who has a contract until June 2028, is one of 17 academy players who have travelled to England for Barcelona's pre-season stage at St George's Park.
