Djurgården held a resale clause on Lucas Bergvall that could have brought the Stockholm club a substantial windfall this summer, after Tottenham received significant bids from Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, both of which were rejected, along with reported interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
No transfer materialised, and the Sweden midfielder instead signed new terms with Spurs earlier this month.
Bergvall remains tied to Tottenham until 2031, so the update was a revision of his existing contract rather than an extension, and Sportbladet reports his new deal is worth around £100,000 a week including bonuses.
He said after signing: "Personally, my goal is to contribute more to the team. I want to perform better, score goals and provide assists to help the team as much as I can.
"I'm getting better every day in training and I'm looking forward to what's going to be a really good season ahead of us."
The new terms arrive despite a difficult start to the season for Tottenham, who have taken only two points from their first five league games.
Bergvall has made 83 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring twice and providing nine assists. The 20-year-old has 14 senior caps for Sweden and played at this summer's World Cup.
