Amanda Staveley was spotted at the London Stadium on Friday as interest in a potential West Ham investment by her firm PCP Capital Partners continues to attract attention.

Staveley, 53, and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi attended a Take That concert at the venue as guests of the stadium โ€” a separate entity from West Ham United โ€” and were seated in the directors' box. PCP Capital Partners brokered the Saudi takeover of Newcastle United in 2021 and Sheikh Mansour's 2008 purchase of Manchester City.

Speaking to Spear's Magazine, Staveley was open about her ambitions, while stopping short of confirming West Ham as the target.

"Maybe, you don't know," she said when asked about the Hammers.

"We've looked at a lot of clubs, including Tottenham, but we are looking at clubs around the Premier League and the UK, Europe. We really want to be buying, going in and investing into a club again very soon.

"Both my husband and I were attracted to building a business where we can take a brand that isn't doing so well, a club that isn't performing well, get it on the right road, and bring that forward. There are very few clubs where that can work. If you want to tick every box, there's actually very few clubs that allow that."

West Ham's ownership is in flux. David Sullivan resigned following allegations of sexually exploitative and predatory behaviour โ€” which he denies โ€” and Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky is set to become the club's largest shareholder after purchasing 16 per cent of the Gold family's stake, giving him 43 per cent control with the potential to increase his share further.

Sullivan's 38.8 per cent stake could also be forced onto the market, with the independent football regulator having confirmed an investigation into his position at the club.
