Luciano Spalletti has confirmed Kenan Yildiz will be available for Sunday's fixture against already-relegated Hellas Verona.

Spalletti also opened up on the depth of his relationship with the 21-year-old forward ahead of Juventus's final push for Champions League qualification.

Spalletti was speaking at his pre-match press conference at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday, where Yildiz's fitness was the central topic after the Turkey international had been managing a minor knee inflammation in the days prior.

"He is being evaluated from every angle, as is right — above all for the player's health. We know and he knows how important he is to us, and he wants to be there. He has had this minor inflammation that can improve or worsen. It is about management. In the last training sessions he has gone very well, he has felt no pain. We have no doubts about his presence in the match."

When asked about the wider relationship he has developed with Yildiz over the course of the season, Spalletti's answer went well beyond injury management.

"My work relies on these connections. From a personal standpoint, it is only these connections. I like to build a relationship with my players, to share ideas, to explain certain things for the good of the club, the fans, the team.

"There are people with whom it is easier because they have human qualities — a sense of team, friendship, love, and the desire to share the whole professional journey. He is one of those. He is one of those who has the sun on his face in terms of his reactions, even when things have not gone in his favour. He always has that positive, willing expression, wanting to convey to you a feeling of happiness and positivity."

Juventus sit fourth in Serie A on 64 points, two ahead of Como, who drew 0-0 with Napoli on Saturday evening. A win over Verona would put significant distance between the Bianconeri and their rivals in the European places.

Dusan Vlahovic's return from a long-term injury was also confirmed, with Spalletti indicating the Serbian forward is in good shape and could play a role in the final weeks of the season.

"He is training with great enthusiasm and has strong character. He has the kinds of plays the team has been missing. He can be useful in these final games to help us reach our objective. He has the right edge to him."

Spalletti opened his press conference with a tribute to former Formula One and para-cycling champion Alex Zanardi, who died on Saturday at the age of 59 following complications from the handbike accident he sustained during a race in Tuscany in 2020.

"A unique man for his values in life and sport. I was fortunate enough to know him, and what he passed on to us is something incredible. When I heard about the minute of silence, I had already observed it on my own."
