Sevilla's transfer market is in full swing, with the club now focused on generating income through player sales after four arrivals and seven confirmed departures of players whose contracts expired.

Akor Adams has become one of the club's biggest assets in that effort. The Nigerian forward has emerged as the target of several clubs, and his exit is gradually taking shape, though Sevilla are not willing to sell at any price.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Venezia have moved to try to sign Akor Adams. The newly promoted Serie A side, who secured their return to Italy's top flight under coach Giovanni Stroppa after topping Serie B with 82 points, are understood to have already reached an agreement with the player, who would be open to trying his luck in Italian football.

Adams had also been linked with Marseille and Sunderland earlier in the window, though interest from both clubs has since cooled. However, the main obstacle in the negotiation is the transfer fee Sevilla are demanding, with the two clubs' financial positions still some distance apart.

Sevilla have no intention of undervaluing Adams, their top scorer last season with 10 goals. The Andalusian club paid Montpellier โ‚ฌ5.5 million for him and, given their financial restrictions, need a significant profit on the sale. Venezia are understood to have made an opening offer above โ‚ฌ10 million, while Sevilla's valuation sits closer to โ‚ฌ20 million.

Adams played down the speculation surrounding his future.

"I haven't spoken to my agent and I don't take these things too seriously, because right now it's time to relax and recharge for next season," Adams said.

"We didn't achieve our objectives last season, so my focus is on how we can fight for a European place next season.

"That's my goal, and I'm not paying attention to or thinking about transfer rumours."

His comments came in his most recent remarks to Footy-Africa, with Sevilla's sporting management continuing to work on a deal that would need to satisfy both the club's valuation and the forward's own priorities before any transfer to Venezia can be completed.
