The clearer of the two Granada deals concerns Óscar Naasei Oppong, a 21-year-old Ghanaian defender capable of playing centre-back or right-back.
Real Madrid had tracked him during the January window but balked at Granada's asking price then; this time, according to AS, the deal is close to being finalised for a fee below €3m — well under the €10m release clause in his contract, which runs until 2028.
Naasei arrived at Granada's academy from Ghana's Emmanuel City in 2023 and has already featured in both of the club's opening Segunda División fixtures this season, making his imminent departure a notable blow for a club that had hoped to tie him to an extended contract before negotiations stalled.
He will join Castilla, initially, though his versatility and recent senior call-up for the Ghana national team have made him one of the more closely watched additions among Madrid's youth-focused recruitment this summer.
Real Madrid are also finalising the arrival of Rayan Zinebi, a Morocco youth international forward who has enjoyed a rapid rise from Granada's junior ranks to a first-team debut last season. The move is expected to be structured as a loan with a €2m buy option attached. Zinebi is currently on international duty with Morocco's under-20s at the Mediterranean Games but was given permission to travel to Madrid in recent days to complete his medical ahead of signing.
While those deals move forward, Real Madrid are simultaneously trying to resolve the situation of Manuel Ángel Morán Ibáñez, known as Mami, who has been training alone for several days awaiting clarity on his own future. The 22-year-old midfielder, who made seven senior appearances last season including two Champions League matches against Manchester City, appeared close to a move to Almería last week, but that deal stalled over Madrid's asking price of €6m for 50% of his economic rights.
Cádiz, managed by Albert Celades, have since entered the race, viewing Mami as a player capable of helping their own promotion push — a prospect that has complicated Almería's position as favourites.
Madrid have since lowered their asking price to €4m for the same 50% stake, with both club and player in agreement that his time at Valdebebas has reached its natural end, even if Madrid remain unwilling to let him leave for nothing given the role he held in the first-team squad last season.
The Naasei deal also sits somewhat awkwardly alongside José Mourinho's own recent comments on the transfer window. Asked directly about incomings before the deadline, the head coach suggested he considered his squad complete.
"For me it's closed, but the market is open. You never know if a player will come and tell you he wants to leave. In principle, no, but it can happen. In my head it's closed and I have no requests. I'm happy. If someone leaves, I'd be happy to keep them,"
Mourinho said — remarks that referred to the first-team squad rather than Castilla, where Naasei is now expected to arrive as a development signing rather than an addition to Mourinho's own plans.
