According to Foot Mercato, RB Leipzig have already opened talks with Strasbourg as they assess the possibility of recruiting both players. Moreira and El Mourabet are also understood to be open to the idea of making the move to Germany.
Moreira, a 22-year-old Belgium international, is the more established of the pair. The versatile wide player has four senior caps and has previously been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Roma.
A fee of around €50 million has been suggested for Moreira, who could potentially fill the squad place vacated by Yan Diomande following the teenager’s move to Real Madrid.
Diomande completed his transfer to Madrid earlier this month after a breakthrough campaign at Leipzig. The Ivorian winger produced 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions last season, helping the club finish third in the Bundesliga and qualify for the Champions League.
Moreira’s own route to Strasbourg has included spells in the academies of Standard Liège and Benfica before he moved to Chelsea. He subsequently established himself in France and became one of the more prominent young players in Strasbourg’s squad. Ligue 1’s official website previously highlighted his versatility and rapid development in Alsace.
El Mourabet would offer a different profile. The 20-year-old midfielder is a Strasbourg academy product and has developed into an increasingly important player for the Ligue 1 side. He also made his Morocco debut in 2026, giving him international experience despite his age.
Leipzig’s interest in El Mourabet could be linked to the latest injury setback suffered by Assan Ouédraogo. There is also a potential opening in midfield because Arthur Vermeeren, who has returned to the club, is reportedly still allowed to leave this summer.
The two Strasbourg players would therefore address different needs, while also fitting the recruitment profile Leipzig have repeatedly pursued: young talent with the potential to develop into major assets.
Whether Leipzig can turn their interest into agreements remains to be seen, but talks over a possible double swoop mean Strasbourg could soon find themselves negotiating with the same Bundesliga club for two of their promising players right now.
