TV Proponitika reports that RB Leipzig, TSG Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart all hold the 23-year-old in high regard. His agency has reportedly already made preparations for the coming transfer window and opened first contacts with clubs in Germany.
No concrete offers have been made, but the central midfielder is said to enjoy a good reputation in the German scouting market and is being watched closely.
Fussballtransfers.com also suggests that Giannis Konstantelias, a former PAOK team-mate of Zafeiris, could prove a trailblazer for other Greek players who want to move to one of Europe's top five leagues. Konstantelias himself was linked with a move to Stuttgart in the summer of 2025, a deal that collapsed at the last minute when PAOK's owner stepped in.
A move this winter is not on the horizon. PAOK paid Slavia Prague €10.5 million for Zafeiris in the summer of 2025, and the club do not want to lose the right-footed player in the middle of the current campaign. Soccerway puts his market value at about €10.3 million, roughly what PAOK paid.
The summer of 2027 looks the more likely time for a deal. Zafeiris, who has won 17 caps for Greece, is under contract until 2029, which gives PAOK a strong hand in any negotiation.
He began his career in Norway with Grorud and Haugesund, and played for Norway at Under-21 level before switching his allegiance to Greece. He joined Slavia Prague from Haugesund in January 2023 for a reported €2.6 million and quickly became a regular in the Czech capital.
His move to PAOK was not straightforward. He signed for the Thessaloniki club in August 2025, but returned to Slavia on loan for the first half of last season before rejoining PAOK at the end of December.
Whether Leipzig, Hoffenheim or Stuttgart decide to act on their interest could depend on how he performs in the coming months. For now, no offers have arrived, and PAOK's stance is clear: Zafeiris is not for sale in January.
