Christian Pulisic has committed his future to AC Milan until June 2031, describing the contract extension as the fulfilment of a personal ambition and insisting that he always wanted to remain at San Siro.

The American forward spoke to Sky Sport after the club confirmed his new five-year agreement, which extends a relationship that began when he arrived from Chelsea in July 2023. Milan's announcement highlighted his contribution of 44 goals in 141 appearances, underlining the importance he has acquired within the team.

"It's incredible. I wouldn't have imagined it. I'm very happy. It has always been my wish," Pulisic said.

The 28-year-old also addressed the interest he received during the summer, explaining that his preference was never to leave Milan.

"I always wanted Milan. All the trust they have given me has been top, and it has always been top," he said.

His decision to extend comes as Milan continue to build under Rúben Amorim, with Pulisic making clear that he has been impressed by the relationship he has developed with the coach and his staff.

"We always want to win, but clearly with a new coach it takes a little time. We want to win immediately. We have a good relationship with the coach and the staff, and we are improving every day."

The renewal was announced on the eve of the derby against Inter, giving Pulisic another reason to look forward to a fixture he knows carries particular significance for the club and its supporters.

"We know it is a match with a lot of intensity. It is always a battle, and this one will be the same," he said.

Pulisic is determined to make his contribution in front of goal, although he stressed that his priority is helping Milan secure the result rather than focusing solely on personal milestones.

"I always want to score, not just in the derby, and help the team," he explained.

The American also acknowledged the quality of Inter, who have established themselves as one of the strongest sides in Italy over recent seasons. He believes Milan must produce a complete performance if they are to take the points.

"We know that in recent years they have shown they are very strong. They play very well, and since I have been here it has always been the same. It is important for us to put in a good performance. If we do things well, we will have the opportunity to win."

Milan's official statement described Pulisic as a key member of the squad since his arrival, highlighting his technical ability, personality, consistency and dedication. The club also presented the extension as a commitment to continuing the progress made together and pursuing further achievements.

For Pulisic, the ambition is straightforward. Asked about his dream, he gave a brief answer that reflects what he wants from the next stage of his Milan career.

"Winning trophies."

The new contract ensures that Milan's influential forward will remain part of the project for several more seasons. Having turned down opportunities to leave during the summer, Pulisic now wants to help deliver silverware and make the club's ambitions a reality.
