Endrick's future at Real Madrid remains unresolved, with the Brazilian forward still weighing up whether a January departure would be the best way to secure the playing time he needs.

Despite having made very little impact on the pitch during the opening months of the campaign, the 20-year-old continues to attract interest from leading European clubs.

AS Roma and AC Milan have been among the teams most active in exploring the possibility of signing him on loan, with the Italian sides aware that his lack of opportunities could create an opening when the winter transfer window arrives.

The contrast between Endrick's reputation and his involvement at Madrid has been striking. During the team's first eight matches before the extended international break, he managed only four minutes, coming on against Elche. His involvement subsequently improved, although he accumulated just 102 minutes across the following five fixtures.

The forward has not yet decided to leave, however. He wants to exhaust the possibility of earning a more important role under José Mourinho, particularly after conversations with the Madrid coach about his prospects.

Roma came close to securing his services during the summer, but Mourinho intervened to prevent the move. AC Milan have since emerged as another serious potential destination, adding to the interest in a player whose situation could become one of the winter window's more closely watched stories.

Mourinho has been unequivocal in his public support for Endrick. After the match against Roma, he made clear that he did not want the Brazilian to leave.

"Forget it, forget it. If any interested club is waiting for Endrick, they should do so sitting down, because they will get tired of waiting," the coach said.

He also underlined his affection for the forward and his belief in what he can achieve at the Santiago Bernabéu.

"Endrick is a player I adore, I love him. A player with enormous potential who is very important to us. Whoever is interested in Endrick will have to fight with me. I don't think he needs to go out on loan; he will have a lot of success here."

Those comments represent Mourinho's public position, although the final decision will also depend on what Endrick believes is best for his development. The coach is understood to recognise that the player's career must remain central to any decision, and would not necessarily stand in his way if the forward firmly requested a move.

The circumstances are different from last season, when Endrick's loan to Olympique Lyonnais was driven in large part by his ambition to secure a place in Brazil's squad for the World Cup. Under Paulo Fonseca in France, he enjoyed a prominent role, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 21 appearances during the second half of the campaign.

That spell gave him the regular football he needed and helped him reach the international tournament. There is no comparable major summer competition driving his decision this time, leaving the question of his development and progression as the main consideration.

The remaining fixtures before January could prove decisive. Real Madrid have seven league matches and three Champions League games scheduled, giving Endrick ten opportunities to convince Mourinho that he deserves a larger role.

For now, he is keeping his options open. Roma and Milan remain interested, but Endrick's immediate priority is to discover whether his situation in Madrid can improve before committing to a move.
