Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro has admitted he is desperate for two pieces of good news before the season ends β€” Premier League survival and a place in Spain's World Cup squad.

Porro spoke to El Larguero on Cadena SER following Monday's 1-1 draw with Leeds United β€” a result that left Spurs looking nervously over their shoulders with West Ham United, two points below them, still to play their penultimate match first.

"On the one hand, we want the season to end, but on the other, we have to work until the very end. There's no other option. We have to finish in the best way possible. It's true that right now we're two points above them and they play before us. Now anything goes. We have to consider everything. That's the reality and everything counts."

He was careful to frame the World Cup question as secondary to the immediate task while making clear what it would mean to him.

"Hopefully, that would be two pieces of good news."

His future at Spurs is also uncertain. He is contracted until June 2028 but has not shut the door on a move if relegation is confirmed β€” Champions League football is the stage he wants to be on, and AtlΓ©tico Madrid are understood to be monitoring him. When asked about his future amid those rumours, Porro kept to the same theme.

"I already have enough on my plate without thinking about that now. The future is next week."

Porro has been one of the few consistent performers across a chaotic season that has seen three different managers β€” Ange Postecoglou, Igor Tudor and now De Zerbi β€” take charge. He has made 45 appearances and provided six assists β€” joint-highest in the squad. Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has continued to call him up despite the club's difficulties, and he featured during the March friendlies.

Tottenham face Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in their final two matches. West Ham face Newcastle and Brighton. The relegation picture could change before Spurs kick a ball again.
