The situation stems from two on-field incidents during pre-season. Musiala collapsed during friendlies against both RB Leipzig (3-1) and 1. FC Heidenheim (4-2) as a result of what Bayern Munich has described as neurological dysfunction, though his active career as a Germany international — he has won 46 caps — is not considered to be at risk.
Sporting director Max Eberl addressed the situation recently, explaining that the club had been managing it for some time.
"We've been dealing with this for a while now, he played the second half of last season with it, and he's on a good path. We've had support in place for this issue for a long time," Eberl said.
