Jamal Musiala has dismissed advice from Oliver Kahn suggesting he should skip the upcoming World Cup, insisting he remains fully committed to representing Germany this summer.

The Bayern Munich star has only recently returned from a long injury layoff, prompting concerns about his fitness ahead of a packed schedule.

Kahn, a Bayern legend and former Germany international, had urged caution earlier this week, suggesting Musiala should prioritise recovery after months on the sidelines.

However, Musiala has made it clear he has no intention of stepping back from international duty.

“No, I absolutely want to go to the World Cup,” he said, speaking to Sky Sports.

“I haven’t read exactly what he said, but I definitely want to be there.”

The 23-year-old instead outlined a dual focus — club success first, followed by international ambition once the season concludes.

“My focus is to help Bayern win titles, and in the summer my focus is to help my country,” he added.

Musiala’s return has been gradual, with the attacking midfielder still working his way back to peak condition after a lengthy spell out.

He admitted he is not yet at full fitness, but believes progress is clearly being made with each appearance.

“It’s getting better with every game,” he said.

“My foot feels freer than it did a few weeks ago. I just need a little more time.”

Despite the caution surrounding his workload, Musiala’s importance to both club and country remains undeniable, with Germany continuing to build around his creativity and attacking output.

He has already earned 40 caps for the national team, contributing eight goals and eight assists — numbers that underline his growing influence at international level.

For Musiala, the message is simple: recovery and ambition can go hand in hand, and missing the World Cup is not part of his plan.
