Agent Alessandro Moggi has given his verdict on the new-look Fiorentina, praising the appointment of sporting director Fabio Paratici and backing the club's move for forward Viery.

Speaking at a charity dinner in support of the Meyer hospital in Forte dei Marmi, Moggi said he was encouraged by the direction of the Tuscan club.

"Fabio Paratici is an absolute guarantee, so I see it very well," said Moggi. "Grosso also did very well last season, he's one of the emerging coaches and all the conditions are there to do very well."

Asked what he expects from the transfer market, Moggi said Fiorentina were likely to see plenty of activity before the window closes.

"I expect changes, without doubt," said Moggi. "Fiorentina have a lot of valuable players, so there will be a lot of work to do. The market runs until the end of August and there's plenty of time to act.

"In these two months we'll see what Fiorentina's needs turn out to be, but it seems to me that here too they've made a good start with the signing of an excellent player."

Pressed on his opinion of Viery specifically, Moggi was reluctant to offer a tactical breakdown.

"I don't technically describe footballers because I'm neither a coach nor a scout," said Moggi. "I'm referring to the fact that, knowing him, he's an excellent footballer, and so from a market point of view, Fiorentina have undoubtedly made an excellent signing, even with an eye on the future.

"I think this is a good starting point for a transfer window that will certainly be very interesting. The names being mentioned in the papers these days back that up too."

Asked whether any current Fiorentina players could be on their way out this summer, Moggi suggested it would depend on the club's ambitions.

"It depends," said Moggi. "If Fiorentina are ambitious, the most important players, like (Moise) Kean, probably aren't for sale."

"Then it's clear I come from a school of thought where every player is for sale, naturally in exchange for advantageous financial terms. Everyone is important, but no one is indispensable. What should always come first is the team, ahead of the individual."

Moggi's comments come with Fiorentina's transfer business only just getting under way, with Paratici and head coach Fabio Grosso expected to continue shaping the squad throughout the summer window.
