Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored for the second consecutive Serie A match as Inter beat Lazio 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, four days before the sides meet again in Rome in the Coppa Italia final.

Goals from captain Lautaro Martínez in the sixth minute and Croatian midfielder Petar Sučić on 39 minutes put Inter Milan in complete control before Alessio Romagnoli was sent off for a VAR-reviewed foul on Ange-Yoan Bonny in the 59th minute. Mkhitaryan added the third 14 minutes later, collecting from Bonny and sweeping a finish into the roof of the net.

The win puts Inter, already confirmed as Serie A champions, in commanding position ahead of Wednesday's cup showdown. Head coach Cristian Chivu rotated his squad with one eye on that fixture, with several key players rested from the starting lineup.

Mkhitaryan spoke to DAZN after the match and addressed the question of his future — a contract due to expire at the end of June — with characteristic quiet satisfaction.

"Nothing, at the moment I only feel emotions. I have had a wonderful career. I am happy to be part of this Inter. My teammates have extended my life. Three matches remain, then we will see what I will do."

When told the club could still add to their trophy haul, the Armenian did not resist.

"In three days we have another great challenge. We hope to do our best to lift another trophy."

Mkhitaryan scored last weekend when Inter secured the Scudetto against Parma — his goal that evening proved the title-winning strike. At 37, with a Serie A title and a Coppa Italia final ahead, his farewell chapter is unfolding at the highest possible level.

Lazio host Inter again at the Olimpico on Wednesday evening. The result of Saturday's meeting may carry psychological weight — it will certainly carry tactical information for both managers.
