Mbappé had attracted attention after being filmed riding a bicycle during the international break, prompting discussion because of previous comments from José Mourinho about footballers avoiding activities such as cycling and skiing.
The Real Madrid forward’s bicycle ride became a talking point among supporters, and Militão has now appeared to make his own playful reference to the situation.
The Brazilian defender posted a photograph on social media showing himself enjoying a bicycle ride with his wife.
The timing comes as Real Madrid prepare for their upcoming meeting with Villarreal, with the club hoping Mbappé will be fully recovered and available for the match.
Mbappé has been one of Real Madrid’s main attacking threats and his fitness will be closely watched as the team returns to domestic action.
Militão is in a different stage of his own recovery. The centre-back has been working with the group again after a long-term injury and is hoping to make his first appearance in the squad this season.
His return to training represents an important step towards competitive action, although the decision on when to include him in a matchday squad remains with the coaching staff.
For now, the defender has provided a lighter moment away from the intense focus on Real Madrid’s preparations, while Mbappé continues his own recovery ahead of the Villarreal fixture.
The pair will hope the next time they attract attention is for their performances on the pitch.
