Konstantinos Mavropanos looks set to leave West Ham this summer, with Arsenal among the clubs credited with interest in their former defender.

Mavropanos looks set to leave West Ham United this summer, with Sky Sports journalist Christopher Reidy reporting that the Greek centre-back is attracting significant interest from clubs across Europe following the Hammers' relegation from the Premier League.

The 28-year-old left Arsenal for Stuttgart in the summer of 2022, before returning to the Premier League a year later when West Ham signed him, a club he remains under contract with until the summer of 2028. Sky Sport Germany reported back in April that Mavropanos looked likely to leave West Ham, with Borussia Dortmund said to be considering a move, though his price tag was seen as an obstacle to any deal.

According to Reidy, there is now plenty of interest in Mavropanos from across the continent, with Arsenal among the clubs credited with an interest in re-signing their former defender.

The Gunners are yet to open any talks, though, given they are already well stocked at centre-back with William Saliba, Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White all on their books. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal's interest develops into anything more concrete, and what valuation West Ham might place on their key defender this summer.

Mavropanos scored three goals in 31 Premier League appearances last season, a campaign that ended in relegation for West Ham despite some of his own performances standing out, including a brace against Wolves and a crucial equaliser away at Manchester City.

Dortmund's interest has cooled somewhat given the fee involved, but reports in Germany suggested the defender himself would be open to a return to the Bundesliga given the lure of regular Champions League football, something West Ham can no longer offer following their drop out of the top flight.

West Ham United are braced for a busy summer of departures following relegation, with the club needing to balance its books after missing out on Premier League revenue.

Mavropanos, alongside team-mates such as Mateus Fernandes, who has already left for Tottenham, and Crysencio Summerville, has been identified as one of the squad's more valuable assets, meaning any sale would likely help fund West Ham's rebuild for a first Championship campaign in years, even as manager Nuno Espirito Santo faces the task of replacing key personnel at short notice.
