That miserable run continued in midweek with a 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat by Liverpool, but Omar Marmoush chose to focus on the positives from Spurs' display rather than dwell on another setback.
The 27-year-old, on loan from Manchester City with an obligation to buy, praised his side's chance creation despite the result.
"Anyone can see we're getting into scoring positions so many times. We have so much quality on the pitch and from those coming off the bench to give that final push. When the small details click, it's going to be really good," Marmoush told Tottenham's official website.
He added that flashes of good form needed to be built upon.
"Those small moments of success give us an extra boost. We have to keep building our confidence without those moments so we can carry it into other matches and be successful."
Tottenham have found scoring goals hard to come by this season, sitting without a single goal and five conceded in their four league matches so far. Expectations were higher heading into the campaign after finishing 17th in the table in each of the previous two seasons, with the club strengthening its squad over the summer with the arrivals of Marmoush, Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, and appointing Roberto De Zerbi as head coach in the spring in the hope of a fresh start.
Marmoush struck an optimistic tone about the season still turning around and called on supporters to stay patient.
"All of us at the club — those working, the fans, the staff and everyone around us — need to support each other if we're going to reach our goal. It's the only way we can succeed," he said.
Tottenham's next fixture comes on Saturday against Aston Villa, another side that has endured a difficult start to the campaign, as De Zerbi looks for his first meaningful signs of progress since taking charge.
The Italian's arrival was meant to mark a fresh chapter for Spurs after successive 17th-place finishes, but early results have instead intensified pressure on a squad that spent heavily over the summer, with well over £300 million committed across Marmoush, Tonali, Fernandes and further additions combined.
