Konde, who turns 17 next month, completed the formal steps in his switch to Old Trafford within the past 24 hours, according to Fabrizio Romano, having made six appearances and provided one assist for Liverpool's Under-18s this season.
He primarily operates from the left flank in the final third but is equally comfortable on the right, and will initially join United's Under-18 squad under Darren Fletcher.
The move continues a run of United signings from academy football's biggest names, following the arrival of Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the window. It also extends a longstanding pattern of Manchester United and Liverpool raiding each other's youth ranks; the Reds' most notable academy graduate of the past decade, Trent Alexander-Arnold, left for Real Madrid last summer, while Liverpool's current crop includes Rio Ngumoha and Conor Bradley.
United had also been tracking Konde's Liverpool teammate Vincent Joseph, who instead opted to sign for Arsenal.
Manchester United's pursuit of Konde was first reported in June, with a development fee reportedly negotiated with Liverpool in July before talks went quiet ahead of this week's confirmation. He arrives at a club that has continued to invest heavily in ready-made first-team talent even as it looks to develop its own prospects — Kobbie Mainoo remains one of few academy products to hold down a regular first-team place, and even he has had to fight for minutes.
During pre-season, head coach Michael Carrick handed opportunities to several teenage prospects, including Shea Lacey and Jack Fletcher, both of whom also featured for the club last season.
United have lost academy players elsewhere this summer, with champions Arsenal completing permanent deals for Habeeb Ogunneye and James Scanlon. United have previously benefited from the reverse trend, too: Chido Obi turned down a new contract at Arsenal as a 16-year-old to join United instead, though his progress has since stalled and he was sent out on loan late in the summer window.
Ayden Heaven followed a similar path, having already made his senior debut for Arsenal before joining United as an 18-year-old for a compensation fee, and has since become a first-team regular at Old Trafford.
