Scott, 22, is wanted by as many as eight clubs this summer, with Newcastle United, Tottenham and Everton among those also credited with an interest. But it is Manchester United and Arsenal who are said to have gone furthest, with representatives for the England international holding talks with both clubs as he weighs up a decision on his future over the next fortnight.
United and Arsenal are understood to be positioning themselves to land Scott in a deal worth around £40million, though Scott is reported to favour a move to the Emirates Stadium. His main concern, however, centres on how much regular football he would get under Mikel Arteta given the champions' strength in midfield, says the Mirror.
Scott has established himself as one of the most exciting young midfielders in English football over the past year, playing a key role in helping Bournemouth secure European qualification last season. His form saw him included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for fixtures against Serbia and Albania, though he was an unused member of the panel on both occasions. He was subsequently called up to join the Three Lions' preparation camp in Florida ahead of the World Cup.
United, for their part, have already strengthened their midfield options this summer with the additions of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. Manager Michael Carrick remains keen to add further competition in that area, but the club are not thought to be willing to enter a bidding war with Arsenal to get a deal for Scott over the line.
Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 and has since developed into one of the club's most influential midfielders, helping them to their highest-ever Premier League finish last season. His importance to Bournemouth's rise means any deal, whichever club wins the race, is likely to represent a significant fee for a player who only turned 22 last August and still has time to develop further at the top level.
