Manchester City are tracking Ajax teenager Abdellah Ouazane after the attacking midfielder made a notable impression in the Dutch side’s first team, according to reports in Italy.

The 17-year-old has emerged from Ajax’s academy and earned more opportunities this season. His recent performances have attracted attention beyond the Netherlands, with Juventus also reportedly following his progress.

Ouazane made headlines in Ajax’s 2-0 Conference League victory over Atalanta on 22 October, scoring the second goal in stoppage time after coming off the bench. Tolu Arokodare had opened the scoring in the 87th minute before Ouazane finished the win three minutes into added time. Ajax’s official match report confirmed the scoreline and the timing of both goals.

The teenager has also contributed in domestic competition, with the supplied report crediting him with two league goals and describing him as a growing presence in the senior squad. His increasing involvement has helped bring him onto the radar of clubs looking for young attacking talent.

According to TuttoAtalanta, Ouazane previously turned down the prospect of joining Real Madrid in favour of continuing his development at Ajax. The report says the move to Spain had been close to completion before he opted to remain in the Netherlands.

That decision appears to be paying off as he gains experience with Ajax’s first team. The Amsterdam club have endured difficult periods in recent seasons, but the midfielder’s emergence offers a positive story amid the wider pressure on the team.

His contract is due to run until June 2028, having been signed in August 2025. That gives Ajax time to negotiate a longer agreement, although the reported interest from Manchester City and Juventus may increase the importance of securing his future.

There is no indication that either club has made a formal offer. For now, the reports point to monitoring rather than an imminent transfer, and Ajax remain in a position to continue developing the teenager.

Ouazane’s goal against Atalanta provided another reminder of his potential, but the next stage will be sustaining his progress and earning a more regular role. With leading clubs now reportedly watching him, his development at Ajax is likely to attract increasing attention over the coming months.
