L'Equipe reported Sunday that Liverpool have entered the race for Akliouche as they plan a significant summer rebuild following a disappointing Premier League title defence. He joins RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola on Liverpool's shortlist of wide attacking targets.
Akliouche has spent his entire senior career at Monaco since graduating from their academy, making over 137 appearances for the club. This season he has contributed seven goals and 11 assists across 41 matches in all competitions, averaging a goal involvement every other game. He is contracted until June 2028 but has indicated he is ready for a new challenge.
Last summer Monaco valued him at €70million, deterring most suitors. The club has since revised that figure downward to around €50million — a reduction driven by the final year of his contract coming into view and sustained interest that failed to convert into completed deals. Liverpool are reportedly prepared to meet that revised valuation.
Paris Saint-Germain remain interested and could complicate Liverpool's pursuit. Manchester City and Tottenham both registered serious interest last summer, with Akliouche himself said to have been opposed to moving to Spurs. His preference is for a club competing at the highest level next season — Liverpool's Champions League qualification, all but confirmed, fits that criterion.
L'Equipe also reported Liverpool's interest in Monaco defensive midfielder Lamine Camara, 22, valued at around €25million, as part of a potential double raid on the Principality. Liverpool are also tracking Midtjylland centre-back Ousmane Diao, 21, who has attracted interest from RB Leipzig.
The scale of the Anfield rebuild is significant. Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson leave as free agents. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker's future is unresolved. Florian Wirtz faces a lengthy injury absence. Akliouche represents one piece of a large and urgent puzzle.
