Fiorentina had the chance to sign Solomon permanently for around €10m under a purchase option in his loan deal, but chose not to trigger it, sending him back to Tottenham. La Viola have since tried to negotiate a reduced fee for a fresh move after failing to make the most of him in Serie A.
Solomon's spell in Florence was his third loan away from Spurs in two years, after also spending time with Leeds United and Villarreal, having originally joined Tottenham from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal that proved controversial at the time.
He was a standout performer during his loan at Leeds, involved in 22 goals across the Championship season as Daniel Farke's side won promotion back to the Premier League, a level of output West Ham hope he can replicate for them as they target an immediate return themselves.
A return to the Premier League remains an attractive option for the 27-year-old, versatile winger, who can play on either flank, though Solomon's camp have made clear that only a permanent transfer, not another loan, will be considered at this stage of his career, with super-agent Pini Zahavi working to find a resolution before the season begins. He has started every one of Tottenham's pre-season friendlies so far this summer.
