Voetbalzone reports, citing the Britain-based transfer journalist Graeme Bailey, that Liverpool in particular see the 20-year-old as a short-term solution and that he is viewed as a possible option for the winter window.
The three clubs were already monitoring Read throughout the summer, according to the report, and Liverpool could face competition from Arsenal and Manchester City for his signature.
Bailey said: “The three Premier League giants have continued to monitor his progress and have been impressed by the way he has started the new campaign, with Liverpool viewing Read as a potential solution to their right-back issues.”
The numbers back that up. Read has contributed five assists in seven Eredivisie games this season, and Feyenoord are unbeaten in the league. That follows a season in which injury problems limited him to 20 appearances.
He has now played 62 official matches for the club, and his contract runs until mid-2029, which means any suitor would have to pay heavily. The report puts his value at €25 million.
Nothing concrete has happened yet. There is no bid or negotiation with Feyenoord at this stage, and the clubs are for now following his development and looking internally at possible next steps. Manchester City were linked with him earlier, in the same period as Bayern Munich, and the interest from England is not new.
Read stayed at De Kuip this summer, although Roma and Nottingham Forest made serious attempts to sign him. Neither reached an agreement with Feyenoord.
He came through the academy of Volendam before joining Feyenoord's under-18s in 2023, and he made his first-team debut in February 2024 as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Roma in the Europa League.
