Vivienne Lewis and her son-in-law Nick Beucher have taken on key ownership roles since the ousting of long-serving chairman Daniel Levy in September, and have not been deterred by a dismal first season in charge, reports the Daily Mail.
The club's position is stark. Tottenham have not won a Premier League game in 2026, Roberto De Zerbi has been appointed as their third head coach of the season after the exits of Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor, and they sit in the bottom three. De Zerbi lost his opening match 1-0 at Sunderland and faces former club Brighton in his first home game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
Takeover speculation has swirled regularly since Levy's departure, with reports emerging in March of a broad agreement with Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi on terms for a £3 billion sale. Those claims were denied by ENIC at the time, and sources close to the family maintain that position. Day-to-day operations are run by chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange.
The scale of the challenge facing De Zerbi is considerable. Spurs have suffered 16 Premier League defeats this season and have gone 14 league games without a win. Avoiding the club's first relegation from the top flight since 1977 remains the sole objective between now and the end of the campaign.
