Harvey Vincent will take the next step in his development away from Leeds United after joining Scarborough Athletic on a short-term youth loan.

The 19-year-old has been one of the more productive members of Scott Gardner’s Under-21 side this season, contributing two goals and five assists across competitions. Four of those goal involvements came in September, earning Vincent a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

Vincent is primarily a winger but can also cover at full-back, giving Scarborough another option across the flank. The move to the North Yorkshire coast is intended to give him more experience against senior opposition after he featured in both the EFL Trophy and the National League Cup this term.

Leeds United confirmed the temporary switch through the club’s official website and said they would continue to monitor his progress during the loan.

The move offers Vincent an opportunity to translate his Under-21 form into regular exposure to the demands of men’s football. His five assists as well as his goals suggest he has contributed beyond finishing moves, while his ability to play in more than one position could help him adapt to the requirements of his new side.

For Leeds United, the loan also gives the academy forward a chance to develop in a different competitive setting rather than relying solely on development-league fixtures. Vincent will aim to make the most of the opportunity and return with further experience to support his push through the club’s pathway.

Vincent’s September nomination reflected a productive spell rather than one standout performance, with four goal involvements during the month. His overall return of seven contributions in all competitions has made him an attacking presence for Gardner’s side.

The EFL Trophy and National League Cup have already exposed him to opponents outside the usual academy schedule. A loan now gives him a further chance to learn from the pace, physicality and consistency demanded in senior football, while Scarborough can assess how his versatility translates into their team.
