The Serie A club announced the agreement on Friday, extending a contract that had been due to expire on 30 June 2027 by a further three seasons.
“U.S. Lecce announces that it has extended its contractual relationship with player Paco Esteban, whose contract was due to expire on 30 June 2027, until the end of the 2029/30 sporting season,” the club confirmed.
Lecce also announced the renewal on social media with the message: “A future to write together. Paco Esteban renews with the Giallorossi until 30 June 2030.”
The decision reflects the club’s confidence in the 20-year-old forward, who made a strong impression with the Primavera team last season and has begun to move into the senior picture.
Esteban finished the previous Primavera campaign as the competition’s leading scorer, registering 21 goals and three assists in 32 appearances. His performances earned him opportunities with the first team, giving Lecce further reason to secure his long-term future.
The Spanish forward has already made his Serie A debut and featured against AC Milan at San Siro before the international break. He has also been given opportunities to demonstrate his ability in senior football during the early stages of the campaign.
For Lecce, the new contract offers protection against interest in a young attacker whose development has attracted attention within the club. It also provides Esteban with a clearer pathway as he attempts to establish himself at the highest level.
The renewal does not guarantee an immediate regular starting role, but it underlines Lecce’s intention to continue investing in his progress rather than risk losing him as his previous deal approached its final stages.
The club’s announcement was clear about the long-term ambition: Esteban’s future remains in Salento, where he will have time to develop and compete for a more prominent role in the senior squad.
With his goalscoring record at youth level already established, the next challenge is to translate that production into consistent contributions for Lecce’s first team.
