With 18 players unavailable because of international duty or injury, Gennaro Gattuso used the match to maintain his squad’s intensity while also testing an attacking 4-2-3-1 formation.
Pinamonti started alongside Noslin and needed just 23 seconds to make his mark. The striker finished from a Noslin assist to give Lazio an early lead and register his first goal in the Biancocelesti shirt.
Lazio continued to threaten, with young forward Serra forcing Arezzo goalkeeper Seculin into a save with a left-footed effort in the fifth minute.
Arezzo gradually grew into the game after Lazio had controlled the opening quarter of an hour. Pattarello and Sala both threatened the home goal, but goalkeeper Edoardo Motta kept Lazio ahead with at least three important interventions.
Gattuso made three changes at half-time, introducing Lazzari, Pellegrini and Canali for Floriani, Pedraza and Zaccagni. Arezzo coach Bucchi made nine changes of his own.
Lazio then repeated the first-half pattern by scoring almost immediately after the restart.
Farcomeni delivered a corner and Diogo Leite attacked the ball at the near post to make it 2-0 in the 46th minute.
The tempo dropped considerably thereafter, with Gattuso using further substitutions to manage his squad. Arezzo goalkeeper Trombini prevented Lazio from adding a third.
The match nevertheless gave Gattuso another opportunity to assess his options during an international break that has significantly reduced his available squad.
Farcomeni started in midfield alongside Belahyane because of the absences of Cataldi, Rovella and Dele-Bashiru, while several younger players were also given minutes.
Pinamonti’s early goal was the clearest individual highlight, while Motta’s first-half saves ensured Lazio retained control when Arezzo began creating opportunities.
Lazio’s next friendly will come against Juve Stabia at Formello next Sunday at 3pm. The match is part of the club’s preparation for their return to Serie A action against Monza on 11 October.
