Senne Lammens has challenged Manchester United to finish the season with momentum after the goalkeeper’s standout display rescued a point in a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Sunderland.

The Belgium international produced four saves at the Stadium of Light, including key stops from Noah Sadiki and Brian Brobbey, as Manchester United secured their first goalless draw since April 2025.

Lammens collected his seventh clean sheet of the season and was later voted Player of the Match after another commanding performance between the posts.

But despite the individual recognition, the 23-year-old admitted United fell below their standards with the ball.

“With the ball, we had to be better.”

“Coming here, the way they play with their fans behind them, we knew it was going to be difficult.”

Lammens admitted United had to dig deep defensively to avoid defeat as Sunderland built momentum across both halves.

“I tried to keep us in the game because that’s my job as a goalkeeper.”

“I’m happy to help the team out.”

The performance marked the fourth time Lammens has claimed United’s internal man-of-the-match award this season, underlining his growing importance in Michael Carrick’s squad.

Attention now turns to Nottingham Forest in United’s final home game of the campaign.

“It’s going to be a big one.”

“We’re going to go for it for the win.”
