Laimer is on the verge of extending his contract at Bayern Munich, with Kicker and Fabrizio Romano both reporting that a broad agreement has been reached following months of stalled negotiations.
The 29-year-old right-back's talks with the German club had broken down earlier in the year over a salary gap, with Laimer's demands reportedly sitting around โฌ15 million per year against Bayern's offer of โฌ12 million.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl acknowledged publicly that negotiations had been difficult. The impasse has since been bridged, though the exact terms โ and the direction in which each side moved โ have not been disclosed.
Laimer's current contract runs until the summer of 2027. The extension is expected to take him beyond that date.
The Austrian joined Bayern on a free transfer from RB Leipzig in 2023 and has made 132 appearances for the club across all competitions, contributing to their Bundesliga title win last season. He scored three goals and registered nine assists in twenty-nine Bundesliga appearances in 2025-26, starting twenty-two of those matches.
He is currently representing Austria at the World Cup โ their first appearance at the tournament since 1998.
