Juventus target Spurs fullback Udogie as Cambiaso replacement with £21m opening bid prepared

Juventus are pursuing Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie as their preferred replacement for Andrea Cambiaso, with Italian outlet TuttoJuve reporting the Turin club's readiness to submit an opening offer of approximately €25m plus bonuses.

However, it is below Tottenham's stated valuation of around €30m.

Udogie, 23, has been linked with a return to Serie A for much of this season and a reunion with head coach Luciano Spalletti — who admires the Italy international and wants him as his first-choice left-back if Cambiaso departs for Chelsea or another club.

The Italian joined Tottenham from Udinese in the summer of 2022 — with his official arrival in north London delayed by a year under FIFA's regulations — and has made 94 competitive appearances for the club, scoring two goals and providing five assists. He is contracted until the summer of 2030.

Cambiaso's future is the variable driving this pursuit. Chelsea have been the most advanced club in negotiations for the Juventus and Italy wing-back, and Spalletti needs cover if that departure materialises. Udogie offers similar positional flexibility — left-back or wing-back — with Italian top-flight experience and established national team credentials.

Whether Tottenham would be prepared to sell a player of his age and contract status at any price is the core question. The gap between Juventus's offer and the asking price is €5m-plus in base terms — a bridgeable difference if goodwill exists on both sides, and a blocking figure if it does not.
