The Colombian centre-back arrived in Turin on Saturday, passed his medical and signed a contract running to 30 June 2030, with Juventus agreeing a permanent transfer with Bologna after weeks of negotiation between the two clubs.
Announcing the move, Juventus said in a statement: "A new arrival in the Bianconeri camp enriches the squad available to coach Luciano Spalletti: Jhon Lucumí officially becomes a new Juventus player and signs an agreement that will tie him to our club until 30 June 2030."
The club went on to welcome the defender ahead of the new season, adding: "Welcome, Jhon, see you on the pitch."
Lucumí came through Deportivo Cali's youth system and made his professional debut at 17, quickly showing the personality and physicality that would define his career. Genk signed him in 2018, and he went on to establish himself as one of the best defenders in Belgian football before moving to Italy in 2022. Across four seasons with Bologna, Lucumí made 152 appearances and scored twice, including a goal in the Champions League, helping the club reach the continent's top competition for the first time in decades.
The move gives Spalletti fresh central defensive cover as Juventus round off their summer rebuild, with the club having already brought in Zeki Celik on a free transfer from Roma and strengthened their forward line with Jeff Ekhator, Randal Kolo Muani and Kerim Alajbegovic.
Lucumí is expected to compete for a starting role alongside Bremer, with the Colombian arriving in the peak years of his career and ready to contribute immediately as Juventus prepare for the season ahead.
The deal marks the end of a lengthy chase for Juventus, who had been tracking Lucumí for much of the summer after his release clause of €28 million expired without a move materialising in July.
Discussions over a possible player-plus-cash structure involving Juan Cabal were explored but ultimately abandoned, before the two clubs found common ground on the final package. Lucumí, who turns 28 later this year, becomes the club's fifth summer signing, having consistently made clear his preference to join Juventus over rival offers from elsewhere in Europe during the closing weeks of the window.
