Francisco Conceição opened the scoring in the 28th minute, finishing from a pass by Zeki Çelik, and Bremer doubled the lead in the 77th, heading in a corner delivered by Edon Zhegrova.
Atalanta protested for a penalty when Pierre Kalulu appeared to hold Jonathan Rowe in the area in the first half, but referee Luca Zufferli waved play on. The result took Juventus to 10 points, level with Como and Frosinone, and left Atalanta with six after a third straight defeat.
Before kick-off, a minute's silence was held for Sandro Mazzola, the Inter and Italy great who passed away on Saturday aged 83, and the home ultras turned their backs on the pitch and chanted.
Spalletti named Gaetano Scirea and Franco Baresi alongside Mazzola as legends of Italian football: “These are things that must not be done. There must be respect and sportsmanship, respect and sportsmanship for the legends of our football like Mazzola, Scirea and Baresi.
"All people of dignity, human and sporting values, from whom we have all taken things. We have heard beautiful stories about their professionalism, about their constant commitment. I met Mazzola when I arrived at Inter, one of the first days he came to hug me, to pass on his availability for my role at that time, and I will always carry that in my heart. He gave me a great deal of help.”
Sarri called it an unpleasant sensation: “An ugly feeling, perhaps created by a generation that does not realise how much Mazzola did, regardless of the shirt he wore. Paying tribute to a figure like that is the minimum, even if he always played in another shirt.”
The Atalanta coach was more animated about the refereeing.
“The VAR should be abolished. If it is not called for a hold like that, it should be abolished and we go ahead with the referee's feelings. It seemed quite blatant to me, someone at the VAR has to give it at least a look. But if we go back to football decided by referees, I'm happy.”
Sarri also pointed to some progress in his side's play: “We won the first two without managing to dominate the game. Now there have been two games with a higher centre of gravity, with more possession. The next step is to speed everything up to allow our attackers to try one-on-ones.”
Atalanta face Venezia after the international break, and Juventus travel to Cagliari.
