Jorgensen joined Chelsea from Villarreal for £20m in July 2024 on a seven-year contract, but has managed only 36 appearances across two seasons, repeatedly losing out to Robert Sanchez in the battle for the number-one jersey, and terms between the two BlueCo clubs are still being finalised, says The Sun.
He had earlier started four consecutive Premier League games before Sanchez reclaimed the gloves, and was given another chance under then-boss Liam Rosenior in the new year, but a costly error in a defeat to Paris Saint-Germain preceded a groin injury that required surgery and further stalled his progress.
Jorgensen was absent from Xabi Alonso's squad for Tuesday's friendly against Western Sydney Wanderers after flying back to the UK to finalise his exit. Strasbourg have been searching for a new goalkeeper since parent club Chelsea recalled loanee Mike Penders this summer, and the France-based side represent an opportunity for Jorgensen to secure regular first-team football, something he has been unable to find consistently since his move to west London.
The 24-year-old is also reported to have attracted interest from Coventry City, though a switch to Strasbourg is regarded as the more likely destination given the transfer's ease under the BlueCo umbrella.
Should the deal go through, Jorgensen would follow Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Alejandro Garnacho out of Stamford Bridge this summer as Alonso reshapes his squad ahead of his first full season in charge.
Chelsea are said to be open to either a permanent sale or a loan arrangement, with the exact structure of any transfer yet to be confirmed. Jorgensen represented Sweden at youth level before switching allegiance to Denmark, the country of his father's birth, in 2021, and remains contracted to Chelsea until 2031 regardless of the outcome of any move this summer.
