The 24-year-old Danish international joined Chelsea from Villarreal CF in the summer of 2024 on a deal running to 2031, but was restricted to just six Premier League appearances in his debut season behind incumbent first choice Robert Sánchez.
Reports in January indicated he was considering his options, and his own comments to Danish outlet Bold have now confirmed the issue remains unresolved.
"My priority now is definitely regular playing time. But right now I don't know very much — I haven't spoken to Xabi Alonso yet."
He reflected honestly on the difficulty of competing for the position under the previous setup.
"It is not easy to play again when a long time has passed between matches. There were certain things I could have done better."
He was then direct about his conditions for staying.
"If I cannot become first-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea, the alternative is to find somewhere else to play."
Bayer Leverkusen and Beşiktaş have both been linked as potential destinations. Chelsea may also be in the market for a new goalkeeper — a factor that could either displace Jörgensen entirely or provide him with an opportunity to compete for the position on more even terms under Alonso's new setup.
The Swedish-born Jörgensen, who represents Denmark internationally, came through Malmö FF's academy before moving to Villarreal.
