The award was announced on Friday, a day after Félix and Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Al-Nassr to the championship with a 4-1 victory over Damac. The result gave Al-Nassr the title by two points from Al Hilal, ending a wait for major silverware that had stretched back to 2019.
Félix, 26, joined Al-Nassr last summer from Chelsea for an initial fee of around €30 million. Coach Jorge Jesus gave him a central role in Al-Nassr's attack from the start, and the results were immediate. He scored three hat-tricks in the league across the season and finished as the division's leading assist provider.
Despite Ronaldo's extraordinary contribution of 28 league goals — including a brace in the title-clinching victory that took him past 100 career goals in the Saudi Pro League — Félix's all-round impact across the season proved decisive for the award panel. He also beat competition from Al Ahli's Ivan Toney and Al Qadsiah's Julián Quiñones.
"The coach gave me so much confidence. He put me to play to command the team, to help the team, to be one of the focuses of the team. And I think when that happens, things go well," Félix said after the title victory.
Jorge Jesus, who also collected the Coach of the Season award, confirmed he would be leaving Al-Nassr following the title win.
"I only accepted this challenge because I told him that I would help him to be champion: let's win the title and then I'll leave. For me it's over. This is the last game I'll play with Al-Nassr."
Félix is in the Portugal squad for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
