Iraola stays tight-lipped on future as Bournemouth renewal talks continue

Andoni Iraola's future at Bournemouth remains unresolved despite the club having already put a contract renewal on the table, with the Spanish manager deliberately keeping all options open.

His current deal expires this summer, and with Crystal Palace and Athletic Club both circling, Iraola has chosen his words carefully.

"Yes, we have obviously spoken," he confirmed when asked about contract talks with Bournemouth. "But I'm sorry β€” today I have no news to give you."

He repeated the point to underline the position.

"From that point of view there are no changes, but we have spoken about it."

Nothing confirmed, nothing ruled out. A message designed to leave every door ajar.

Crystal Palace are looking for a new manager after Oliver Glasner confirmed he will leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season. Iraola has emerged as one of their leading targets. Athletic Club also want him back in Bilbao, where he spent twelve seasons as a player and made more than 400 appearances — though reports in Spain suggest Edin Terzić is now the frontrunner for that role, which may have cooled that particular avenue.

Sky Sports UK's reading of the situation is that Iraola is likely to remain at Bournemouth β€” unless a significant offer from one of the Premier League's top clubs arrives and changes the calculation entirely.

Iraola has transformed Bournemouth since arriving in 2023, guiding the Cherries to back-to-back top-half finishes and establishing them as one of the most attractive teams in the division. His work has not gone unnoticed. Tottenham also had him on their list earlier in the season.

For now, Bournemouth have done what they can. The offer is on the table. The decision belongs to Iraola, and he is in no rush to make it.
