That scale of incoming interest in attacking options makes Abraham's game time even harder to guarantee at Villa Park, strengthening the logic behind a loan move to get regular football elsewhere.
The 28-year-old has a long history in Championship football with Villa themselves, having scored 25 league goals during a prolific loan spell from Chelsea in 2018-19 that helped fire the Midlands club to Premier League promotion — pedigree Ipswich hope he can translate into goals in the second tier once again this season.
Villa's other business underlines the scale of their ambitions this window. Jackson is expected to complete a move from Chelsea in the coming days, while the approaches for Mateta and Kofane point to a club still actively shopping for attacking reinforcements even after a busy summer.
The offer for Leão, meanwhile, puts Villa in direct competition with Galatasaray for the Portugal international, with Unai Emery's side reportedly prepared to go close to matching the Turkish club's proposed fee.
Should Villa's incoming business continue at this pace, Abraham's path to regular first-team football would only become narrower, adding further weight to the case for a loan exit before the deadline.
