Inter are reportedly monitoring Lazio wing-back Romano Floriani Mussolini as they consider options to strengthen their right flank, although a January move appears unlikely.

Inter Milan are considering Lazio’s Romano Floriani Mussolini as a potential option to strengthen their right flank, with the 23-year-old reportedly attracting attention after establishing himself in the Biancocelesti side.

According to Italian sources, Floriani Mussolini has become an important part of Lazio under head coach Gennaro Gattuso after spending a season gaining experience at Cremonese. His progress has put him on Inter Milan’s radar as they assess their options for next season.

However, Lazio are unlikely to welcome an approach while the team continues to perform well. The current set-up is working effectively, with club president Claudio Lotito having little reason to disrupt the squad during the campaign.

A January transfer is therefore considered improbable unless Inter make a substantial offer and circumstances elsewhere in their squad change.

One possible factor would be the future of Luis Henrique. The report suggests that a move for Floriani Mussolini could become more realistic if the Brazilian were to leave for a club outside Italy, creating room for Inter to reshape their options on the right.

There is no indication that such a departure is imminent. Galatasaray and Besiktas showed interest in Luis Henrique a year earlier, but the player ultimately chose to remain where he was.

For now, Floriani Mussolini remains a name to watch rather than an imminent transfer target. Lazio are said to value his contribution, and their position could become even firmer if the team continues to challenge near the top of the table.

A potential starting price is set at €20 million on the wing-back, although Lazio could demand more as the season progresses. His development also means that his longer-term potential remains difficult to assess, giving the club a reason to resist selling too early.

Inter’s interest reflects their desire to strengthen the right side of their defence ahead of next season. Whether they pursue Floriani Mussolini will depend on their squad needs, the player’s continued progress and Lazio’s willingness to negotiate.

For the moment, the conditions for a January deal do not appear to be in place. A significant offer, particularly one linked to a departure from Inter, could change the situation, but Lazio are not expected to make a change simply for the sake of it.
