According to Tuttomercatoweb, negotiations over Dimarco’s new terms remain unresolved, despite both sides being interested in continuing their relationship. The Italy international’s current deal is reported to run until 2028 after Inter exercised an extension option, but the parties have yet to settle on the salary attached to a longer agreement.
Dimarco is understood to want a package comparable to those of Nicolò Barella and Alessandro Bastoni, whose reported earnings are around €6 million per season plus bonuses. Tuttomercatoweb reports that Dimarco currently earns around €4 million net annually, leaving a gap between his expectations and the club’s position.
The 28-year-old has become an important figure at Inter, and his representatives are seeking recognition for his performances and status in the squad. However, the club must also manage its wage structure, meaning the financial details remain a central obstacle rather than any lack of willingness to discuss an extension.
Inter Milan are therefore monitoring potential alternatives in the market. The club have watched Mahamadou Nagida on several occasions after the Rennes left-back impressed in the Europa League against Juventus. The 21-year-old Cameroon international is capable of playing as a full-back or wing-back and is under contract with Rennes until 2029.
Rennes are reportedly reluctant to sell Nagida in the near future and would demand a substantial fee. That makes a January move difficult, with the summer window viewed as a more realistic opportunity if Inter decide to pursue him.
Inter are not the only club tracking the defender. Juventus are also said to have taken notice after his performance against them, creating the possibility of competition between the Serie A rivals should Rennes consider an offer.
For now, Nagida is an option being monitored rather than a confirmed target for a formal bid. Dimarco’s renewal remains the main issue, and the coming discussions will determine whether Inter can reach an agreement or need to plan more seriously for alternatives.
