Garcia's route to regular first-team football at Real Betis looks increasingly blocked, with limited opportunities available under head coach Manuel Pellegrini. Several clubs in La Liga and abroad have shown interest in the 20-year-old, but it is the newly promoted Premier League side who have moved with the most conviction.
The winger has performed well throughout pre-season, and Real Betis are keen not to let him leave entirely, hoping to retain some future control over his career rather than sanctioning a clean-break sale.
Hull City, back in the Premier League after promotion, believe Garcia is ready to make the step up this season and see him as a player capable of earning the regular minutes that would not be guaranteed to him at the Benito Villamarin.
Garcia came through Real Betis' academy and made his first-team debut under Pellegrini before going on to represent Spain at Under-21 level, having previously featured for the country at Under-16, Under-19 and Under-20 level. His performances for Spain's Under-19s at last summer's European Championship, in which he scored four goals in a single semi-final, drew wider attention from clubs across the continent.
Real Betis have already sold academy product Nobel Mendy to Hull this summer, banking a reported €5million fee, and see a move for Garcia as a further opportunity to raise funds during a summer in which they have prioritised strengthening their forward line and pursuing the returns of Dani Ceballos and Sofyan Amrabat.
Any structured deal retaining a sell-on interest would allow the club to benefit further if Garcia goes on to fulfil his potential in England.
Garcia signed a contract extension with Real Betis until 2029 in January 2025, a sign of the faith the club had placed in his development at the time. Since making his senior debut, he has featured 28 times for the first team across all competitions, contributing two goals and an assist, with the majority of his minutes coming in the Copa del Rey rather than La Liga.
