Getafe have made a formal offer for Jadon Sancho, with the former Manchester United winger weighing up his options after becoming a free agent in the summer.

The 26-year-old has been exploring potential destinations since his contract at Old Trafford expired in June. A move to Spain is now under consideration, although reaching an agreement is understood to be complicated.

Getafe are keen to strengthen their squad and have reportedly made a concrete approach for the England international. The club are competing in LaLiga and the Europa Conference League this season, with Sancho viewed as a potential addition to their attacking options.

Sancho is understood to favour a move away from England but remains open to different possibilities as he considers the next stage of his career. His representatives are continuing to assess the available options, with no completed transfer announced.

The winger joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a reported £73 million fee. His time at Old Trafford did not develop as hoped, and he subsequently spent periods on loan at Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Last season, Sancho made 39 appearances for Aston Villa as Unai Emery’s side enjoyed a successful campaign. He also featured in the Europa League final, coming on as a late substitute in Villa’s victory over Freiburg.

His previous loan spell at Chelsea came during the 2024-25 season. Although the arrangement included an obligation to buy, Chelsea paid a reported £5 million penalty to end the agreement rather than complete a permanent transfer.

Sancho’s career has therefore involved several changes of club in recent seasons, and a move to Getafe would offer him a fresh opportunity outside English football.

Getafe have already added experience to their squad by signing former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal, who agreed a contract running until June 2027 after leaving the Bernabéu at the end of his deal.

Sancho has continued training while searching for a new club, sharing footage of his sessions on social media. He also visited non-league side Flixton, who clarified that he was not on trial with the North West Counties League club.

The Getafe offer gives Sancho another possible route back into competitive football. However, financial terms and the player’s decision remain key factors before any agreement can be completed.
