Galatasaray have contacted the representatives of Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe as the Turkish club explore a summer move, with head coach Okan Buruk understood to have approved the transfer.

Turkish outlet Fanatik reports that Galatasaray are preparing a formal approach to Bologna in the coming weeks, having decided against exercising the €30 million purchase option on Noa Lang, who arrived on loan from Napoli in January.

The club is looking to redirect those funds towards Rowe as a permanent replacement.

The 22-year-old Englishman joined Bologna from Marseille last summer for €17 million plus €2.5 million in bonuses, with the club retaining a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

He has scored seven goals and provided four assists across 38 appearances, including four goals and two assists in the Europa League — a particularly impressive return that has attracted wider attention.

Bologna are not looking to sell and have indicated that no official approach has been received. Rowe is contracted until 2029 with an option for a further season, giving the Rossoblu firm leverage. The club's asking price has been reported at €45 million.

Galatasaray are planning to leverage their Champions League place — they currently lead the Turkish Süper Lig — as a selling point in any negotiations with both the player and his club.

The Resto del Carlino reports that Rowe has also attracted interest from England, where calls for an Under-21 call-up are growing.
