Ferran Torres returned to New York this week, the city where his World Cup-winning goal made history, kicking off a promotional tour with sponsor Under Armour.

The Valencia-born forward travelled to New York on Sunday and began a run of appearances on Monday across several of the United States' highest-profile television programmes, all keen to feature Spain's World Cup star; CNN, ESPN and NBC are among the outlets that have secured the Foios-born forward for interviews, alongside a series of photoshoots arranged with media outlets around the world.

Asked about his plans for next season, Ferran left his Barcelona future firmly up in the air.

"I have a contract with Barça but... in football you never know," he said, before repeating much the same sentiment when pushed further: "I'm waiting to make the right decision, I still don't know."

Speaking separately to Sportico, he reinforced the same message, and when asked what Barcelona would need to do to convince him to renew, he replied: "They have to show that they want me, that they come and negotiate and in the end everything will work out."

Those comments land amid continued speculation linking Luis Enrique's PSG with a move for Spain's World Cup final goalscorer. Torres struck the only goal of the 1-0 win over Argentina in the final, a moment that has followed him everywhere since.

**A week of promotion ahead**

Alongside the various interviews, Ferran will also take part in promotional events for Under Armour, the brand for which he has become a global footballing icon.

The American company, with deep roots in US sports but a more recent push into football, has seen its association with Torres go global following his World Cup winner against Argentina, with the brand even launching its own campaign around the goal.

One of the mandatory stops on the trip, alongside Héctor Peris, CEO of his representation agency Leaderbrock Sports, will be Under Armour's world headquarters and a meeting with company CEO Kevin Plank.

The events run through Thursday, with further surprises expected to be revealed as the days in the United States progress. Ferran has broken new ground in America and will be treated like a major celebrity throughout. He returns to Barcelona training in a matter of days, still with his future unresolved.

On Friday, following the American leg of the trip, Torres will travel to his hometown of Foios for a tribute organised by the people closest to him in the town where he was born, part of a week of recognition for the World Cup hero following his post-tournament break.
