The Pakistan Football Federation confirmed the appointment in a statement on Instagram, welcoming Bramble to a coaching set-up now led by his former Newcastle United team-mate.
"From Premier League battles to the Pakistan touchline," the federation said. "Former Premier League defender Titus Bramble, who made over 200 Premier League appearances during an accomplished playing career, begins a new chapter with the Pakistan Men's Senior National Team as assistant coach.
"Bringing valuable experience from the highest level of English football, Bramble joins the national setup at a crucial time as Pakistan looks ahead to the FIFA ASEAN Cup and the challenges that lie ahead."
Bramble, 45, made more than 290 appearances across 13 seasons in the Premier League between 2000 and 2013, starting his career at Ipswich Town before spending five years at Newcastle, where he made 156 appearances in all competitions. He went on to play for Wigan Athletic and Sunderland before dropping into non-league football with Stowmarket Town as a player-coach, and retired from professional football in 2018.
The centre-back represented England at Under-21 level on 10 occasions but never earned a senior cap. Since retiring, he has spent time coaching in Ipswich's academy and more recently in Dubai, and visited Lahore and Islamabad last year as part of a youth football development programme, groundwork that appears to have helped pave the way for his new role.
Bramble's appointment reunites him with Solano, who has managed Pakistan's senior team since last year. The pair were teammates at Newcastle between 2002 and 2007, making 83 appearances together for the Magpies during that spell, and Bramble is expected to bring defensive expertise to a Pakistan setup preparing for a testing period of international fixtures.
Solano was appointed Pakistan head coach in 2025, taking over a senior and Under-23 setup in need of fresh direction as the federation looks to end the country's long wait to reach a major tournament.
Bramble's arrival adds another familiar face from Newcastle's early-2000s squad to the coaching staff, with the pair having formed part of a side that competed in European competition during their time together on Tyneside.
