Evanilson has scored in three consecutive games for Bournemouth, with James Hill praising the Brazilian’s work rate, technical quality and character after his latest performance against Sunderland.

The striker scored and assisted in Bournemouth’s 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Sunday, reaching 100 career goals and helping his side secure another win in front of their home supporters.

Evanilson opened the scoring before setting up Marcus Tavernier, continuing a run of form that has made him one of Bournemouth’s most influential players. He has now scored in each of the club’s last three matches and is also among the Premier League’s leading providers, with four assists alongside Brighton’s Pascal Gross and Arsenal’s Declan Rice, according to the supplied report.

James Hill believes the Brazilian’s contribution goes well beyond his recent goals and assists, highlighting the work he puts in for the team as well as his ability in the final third.

“I've said it since he first arrived at the club, Evanilson's an incredible player,” Hill told the Daily Echo.

“The work rate that he gives us as a team off the ball is second to none.

“His work rate is absolutely incredible and his technical ability today to take the keeper on one-v-one.

“It looks easy, but it's actually not and to have that calmness to take it around the keeper and go and score and his assist as well, and the sending off.

“I think a lot of today came from him and his work rate and it's positive to him because he's worked really hard to get to where he is now and long may that continue because he's an incredible player and first and foremost he's an incredible person as well.

“So we're very lucky to have him at the football club and yeah, he got what he deserved today.”

Hill’s comments reflect the value Evanilson brings through his pressing and movement, not just his finishing. The forward has remained an important part of Bournemouth’s attacking approach under both Andoni Iraola and current head coach Marco Rose.

The Sunderland match also gave Evanilson a personal milestone to celebrate. He spoke about the significance of reaching 100 career goals and the satisfaction of helping his team win.

“I'm lost for words with everything I've been experiencing over these last few games. It's great to be scoring again and helping the team to another victory.

"Reaching the milestone of 100 goals is special to me, and I'm grateful to everyone who has been with me on this journey. We achieved a historic victory in midweek and have won again in front of our own fans, strengthening our performances at home,” Evanilson told Globo.

Evanilson came through at Fluminense before moving to Porto in 2020. He joined Bournemouth in 2024 and has since worked to establish himself in the Premier League.

His latest performance offered another reminder of his ability to influence games in different ways: scoring himself, creating for a team-mate and contributing to Bournemouth’s pressing game. Hill’s praise also underlined the personal qualities that have made the striker a valued member of the squad.

The win over Sunderland provided Bournemouth with an important boost after a difficult start to the league campaign. With Evanilson finding the net regularly and adding assists, the Cherries will hope his current form can help them build consistency in the weeks ahead.
