The 26-year-old defender remains under contract until June 2028 and is currently focused on his role as Elversberg captain, despite renewed interest in his situation.
According to Sky, Pinckert’s exit clause will soon become more affordable, potentially making the centre-back a relatively low-cost option for Bundesliga clubs looking to strengthen their defence.
There is no indication that Pinckert is currently pushing to leave. The defender is understood to feel comfortable in Saarland and has previously turned down enquiries, with his immediate focus remaining on Elversberg.
That stance has not stopped his name from attracting attention. Pinckert has been with the club since 2022 and has experienced its rise from the third tier to the Bundesliga.
His long association with Elversberg has made him one of the established figures in the squad, while his role as captain has added to his importance to the team.
The changing release clause could nevertheless alter the transfer picture. A fee of less than €2 million would give interested clubs an opportunity to recruit an experienced Bundesliga defender without committing a major portion of their transfer budget.
Pinckert previously attracted interest from several top-flight clubs, but no move materialised. His current contract provides Elversberg with protection through 2028, although the release mechanism limits the club’s ability to prevent a departure if the relevant conditions are met.
For now, the player’s position remains unchanged. Pinckert is comfortable at Elversberg and there is no sign that he is actively seeking a transfer.
The situation could become more interesting as the season develops, however. If the defender maintains his role and performances, clubs looking for defensive reinforcements will be aware that the cost of activating his clause is falling.
Elversberg therefore face a situation in which their captain remains committed to the club while becoming progressively easier for potential suitors to acquire.
For Pinckert, the immediate priority is football rather than a transfer. But with his release clause dropping below €2 million, his name is likely to attract renewed attention before the next transfer window.
