Yan Diomande has acknowledged the motivation that comes from being linked with Europe's biggest clubs, but stopped well short of pushing for a move β€” insisting his focus remains firmly on Leipzig.

The 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger has been one of the Bundesliga's most electrifying players this season, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in 35 appearances since joining RB Leipzig last summer for €20 million.

Liverpool have been identified as his most likely destination, as preliminary contact with his representatives has been confirmed. Leipzig are demanding upwards of €100 million and are also exploring a contract extension with a significant pay rise and no release clause.

Diomande addressed the transfer noise in an interview with Bulinews.

"Of course, if you imagine someone saying you have to go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job, you're going to be happy and motivated to do more. But I don't think about this kind of thing because I'm trying to be focused on the pitch. Because my job is playing football, I leave everything else outside the pitch. It gives me a lot of motivation to see clubs speak about me. I'm focused. My contract runs until 2030, so I have four more years."

He made clear the scale of what Leipzig have done for him goes beyond football.

"I will never forget this opportunity. It's not only about playing football. The club has helped me a lot off the pitch. The media only sees me on the pitch, but the club has helped me a lot with my family and my mom. I'm very grateful, and the only thing I can do to say thanks is to give everything on the pitch, and that's what I'm trying to do every day."

The season has exceeded even his own expectations.

"It's been an amazing season for me as a young boy, playing at the Africa Cup of Nations, qualifying for the Champions League, and now I'm going to play at the World Cup. I'm proud of myself and the people who followed me since the beginning. I didn't expect everything to happen so quickly, but of course I have the ambition and vision. I want to become one of the best players in Africa and in Europe."

Diomande joined Leipzig from LeganΓ©s, who were relegated from La Liga, after a brief spell there following several years developing in the United States through the DME Academy. The pace of his rise has been remarkable. He became the youngest player to score a Bundesliga hat-trick in 60 years when he netted three in Leipzig's 6-0 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt in December.

With Mohamed Salah's departure from Anfield confirmed, Liverpool's need for a wide forward capable of filling that role is acute. Structured payments and add-ons are being explored to bridge the gap between what Liverpool are willing to pay and Leipzig's asking price.

Diomande's World Cup performances for Ivory Coast this summer are likely to further raise his profile β€” and his valuation.
