Junior Dina Ebimbe expects to return to Eintracht Frankfurt this summer after a productive loan spell at Stade Brest, despite Frankfurt reportedly looking to sell him.

The 25-year-old Cameroonian winger, speaking to Sport Bild, said he does not expect Brest to activate their purchase option and is resigned to heading back to Germany.

"I don't know for certain, but I don't expect it. I'll probably go back to Frankfurt first."

It has been a marked personal recovery. After struggling for game time and form at Frankfurt, Dina Ebimbe has produced five goals in 26 appearances for Brest in Ligue 1 this season and spoken openly about his transformation.

"Fortunately, Brest believed in me and built me up. Now I play every game, I get a lot of minutes, I score goals and I feel healthy and fit. I haven't been this happy for a long time."

The turnaround makes Frankfurt's apparent intention to cash in all the more pointed. Bild reports his name features on an internal transfer list at the club, who are looking to raise funds from returning loanees this summer. His contract at Frankfurt runs until 2027.

Dina Ebimbe says the decision is out of his hands, but he remains ready for either outcome.

"That's not in my power. When I left, I wasn't allowed to train with the first team anymore. But if they give me this chance under the new coach, I will definitely give 100 percent. And if not, I'll still give everything to be in the best condition for another club."

He is also candid about the attitude problems that led to his marginalisation at Frankfurt in the first place.

"I wish I had been as professional earlier as I am now. I'm coming back as a new person."

The Cameroonian moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023. Whether the club gives him a chance to prove his renewed focus remains to be seen.
