Napoli have kicked off their centenary celebrations with the launch of a new home shirt for the 2026-27 season, unveiled aboard the MSC World Europa cruise ship ahead of the club's official centenary date of 1 August.

The kit, produced with long-standing partner EA7 in collaboration with Valentina De Laurentiis, leans heavily on the club's history.

Its design echoes the shirt worn when Napoli won their first Scudetto in the 1980s, and the club used artificial intelligence on social media to show the design on an image of Diego Maradona seated in the stadium that now bears his name.

Several symbols feature on the shirt: the "Corsiero del Sole", Napoli's original emblem, sits alongside the number 100 marking the club's century, an infinity symbol representing the bond between the city and the team, and the current SSC Napoli crest. An NFC chip built into the Authentic patch unlocks exclusive club content, while "Partenopei" is stitched behind the collar.

Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis marked the launch by outlining plans for a year-long celebration.

"This anniversary will be celebrated throughout the year. A hundred years of passion, of falls, of rebirths, of successes," he said. "For 1 August we're preparing a special event in the heart of the city, and for this historic season we'll carry a wish, more than a motto: Pe cient'anne."

De Laurentiis also touched on incoming head coach Massimiliano Allegri, due to be presented on 14 July, and the club's transfer plans.

"I'm happy and proud to have chosen continuity with a coach who has won a great deal in Italy and reached two Champions League finals," he said.

"Napoli have 47 players and need to trim to 25. If there are gaps, we'll act in the market, but with two or three players per position, we need to speak with the coach first. I don't think we'll need to buy anyone, and we'll have plenty to move on."
